Protection of criminal victims
During the last 6 months, AWEN has been defending 19 victims of criminal offenses in the District Courts. All cases have experienced crimes of gender-based violence against them and their family members.
AWEN - The Women's Empowerment Network in Albania and the Central Election Commission, held in Kukës on September 14, 2023, a meeting for the education, information and awareness of women in terms of their involvement in the electoral process.
The main topic of the discussion organized within the project "Increasing the Level of Women's Involvement in Decision-Making and Politics", was the participation in the elections of September 24, 2023, when the Mayor of Kukës will be elected. The phenomenon of family voting, which affects this target group, was another topic that was discussed, making them aware to express their free will, without anyone's influence.
The Central Election Commission aims to promote the efforts of interest groups to ensure the improvement of women's representation in decision-making. This will help achieve gender balance and diversity in representation
