Protection of criminal victims
During the last 6 months, AWEN has been defending 19 victims of criminal offenses in the District Courts. All cases have experienced crimes of gender-based violence against them and their family members.
On December 12, 2023, AWEN held a training session with members of the Coordinated Referral Mechanism in Kukes Municipality. As part of a cycle of trainings developed in 12 municipalities of the country with the support of the Sigrid Rausing Trust, this session aimed to increase the capacities of the members of the Coordinated Referral Mechanism (CRM) to address the needs of survivors of domestic violence and gender-based violence. The focus of these trainings are: legal changes, problems encountered during the treatment of referred cases and recommendations for improving the work in the future.

AWEN was part of the protest organized on March 8 on International Women's Rights Day against social injustices and inequalities.
